DRAYHORSE ADVANTAGES

We know there are many co-packers and canning facilities to choose from and we know time is

Below are some of our key advantages or specialties to help make the decision easy for you.

RTDs or Canned Cocktails

Pennsylvania RTD Co-Packing

Based in Philadelphia, our license allows us to sell directly to restaurants, bars, and consumers. With the passing of Senate Bill 688, allowing RTDs to be sold in grocery and convenience stores in Pennsylvania, this also enables us to sell directly to them as well, effectively adding 12,000 more direct outlets for RTDs produced with Drayhorse.

Tequila-Based Cocktails

Beyond being experts in general for RTDs, we have in-depth expertise in Co-Responsibility agreements and exclusive connections to tequila sources that make saying “tequila” fácil.

Historic Philadelphia

Drayhorse Canning Facility is in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. Its Indigenous inhabitants traveled by canoe and fished by the riverside, making netting out of local plant fiber for millenia on end. Later, Port Richmond became a working class industrial neighborhood.

In the 1850s, Finley & Schlichter created a factory, Aramingo Mills–later The Schlichter Jute Cordage Company–for the manufacture of nautical rope from jute and hemp fiber. Laborers and tradesmen worked tirelessly to create rope and packaging twine in this hub of industrial and commercial traffic.

In 1939, The Sterling Paper Company took up residence at the factory site, transitioning from making canvas for sails and rope to blank sheets of paper on which the dreams of the twentieth century could be written.

The site of 2155 Castor Avenue is experiencing a revitaliation. Newly blossoming artistic fervor, culinary ingenuity, guild-kept craft traditions, and 21st century digital commerce are moving into the site as a bustling and burgeoning microcity. Drayhorse Canning is proud and honored to be at the forefront of this unparalleled endeavor.
